Freesat Help

Hi All, I'm setting up a freesat system, what I need to know is, do I require 2 cables from the dish to receive HD.

You don't need 2 cables to receive HD but you do if you are using a Freesat+ PVR

Q: I have freesat already. Can I use my existing satellite dish for freesat+?

A: You will be able to use the same satellite dish, however to enjoy freesat+'s full functionality the LNB (the protruding antenna of the dish) needs to be a dual or multiple LNB, and two cables are required from the satellite dish to the freesat+ box. These are required so you can watch one channel and record another. If you don't already have a dual LNB fitted and want freesat+, please talk to your local freesat approved retailer about your installation options.

In other words, if your equipment has 2 tuners you will find 2 satellite F-connectors on the back, which will require 2 independant feeds from the dish.

Thanks for the replies. One more thing I have a sky setup and Im pretty sure its a quad LNB, am I right in thinking I can use this dish for freesat without affecting my sky feed?

Re: Freesat Help

A Sky dish is pointed at the same cluster of satellites that are used by Freesat, so yes you can use it. LNB's are usually interchangeable if you need more feeds anyway.
