Is it worth paying for LTE at such a premium price for what you get, or to upgrade your contract early to upgrade as Orange & T Mobile are allowing when you can get these types of speeds now on 3G? All with unlimited data at such a low price?

Is anyone on EE how does it perform or did anyone upgrade their contract early? was it worth it?

I think it'll be great... in about 2 years, for now though bleh.

You pay through the nose, get stupid data caps, I'll give it a miss for now.

Three is starting LTE in a few months, don't bother with EE and their outrageous prices.

yah I just read Three will be offering no extra charge for 4G with all-you-can-eat data too!

If I could get it in my package for cheap enough price I would as I am near Hull and often work in and out of Hull but its no biggie as my work phone had a 4G plan so could always use that. Speeds were decent when using it earlier, will be watching as my contract is up for renewal soon.

I am on 4GEE as I upgraded to a 4G ready phone on Orange and the equivalent tariff on EE was only £5 dearer than I was paying with Orange and I think it was definitely worth it just to get the same (sometimes better) performance when browsing out and about as I get when connected to WiFi. Plus when you're in busy areas 3G tended to go either incredibly slow or not work at all, don't have that problem with 4G.

That just means you were overpaying with Orange beforehand as well.

For an unlimited calls and texts tariff not really, and I got the phone on the day it was released

That's what annoys me. you have a higher speed service, so you'll burn through it faster, and a crappy limit considering what 4G is intended for....

I was looking at 4G but for less I'm going for a non 4G plan and unlimited data.

The 4G had a 500MB cap you could get more but for silly money.

I'm on 3 an I will often tether my ipad to my iPhone an watch movies on Netflix an often use 20 to 40 Gb a month data. 4G is currently useless to me unless I want to pay a lot more for a lot less.

Not forgetting on 3's DC HSDPA upto 40Mb is potentially possible although unlikely, I average between 15 and 28Mb

You have two broadband connections according to your services listed on your profile and one of them is a 100mb connection, why would you need to tether and use all that data? For general web browsing and streaming music on Deezer (included in my subscription) my data limit is fine. If I wanted to watch films on the EE film store I could take advantage of that as that is currently unlimited usage. If I needed unlimited usage I could have gone with Virgin Mobile that uses the EE network which has way better coverage than 3, lucky to get 1 bar with them round here.

Due the dara limits on 4G I stuck with 3G and the non-LTE galaxy s3 as the 4g part of it drained batteries quicker.

So glad I have it as when walking around town witb headphones on I can stream music channels/my Googrecently mysic and use 500mb on those days as well as watching tv news channels on the way home.

Having moved houss recently there is still no broadband here so I have been tethering for browsing and downloading. Pages start to load instantly so problemz there. Downloaded 35gb of stuff in the last few days through it and was getting 1.6mb/s. Not too sbabby althouhh speed tests ard giong fasted

Figured my contract would run out around the galaxy s5 gets releassd so the other providers will have betted data deals to go with 4g. Will probably stick with Three though, no complaints.

As for coverage, EE & 3 share majority of their masts with each other see http://www.mbnl.co.uk/about.php so its not likely that you'd go to an area and find EE's coverage better than Three or Three better than EE unless you was connecting to EE using 2G.
