Pay per view ?

I have virgin tv XL package , I dont subscribe to sky sport. Sometimes though i see a football match on that i would like to watch. Rather than pay a monthly fee to get sky sports can you pay per match you want to watch, if so how do you go about this . thanks

You can get (albeit an expensive) day pass on NowTV for £9.99

Sky briefly offered pay per view streaming of Champions' League matches a few years ago. I used to pay £5 per match if I recall correctly, but they stopped doing that.

Shame really.

These days I resort to P2P streaming, but I'd be happy to pay £5 to stream a match in decent quality again.

Cheers, but, as you say, £10 seems a little steep if you just want to watch Barca-Bayern.

A day pass is a form of PPV.

Nope, it's a 1 day subscription, for all the Sky Sports channels. PPV is specifically for an individual event.

A tenner a day does seem high, considering it's a pound a day, give or take, if you subscribe for a month.

£3-£5 a day would be more reasonable.

If you could get Sky Sports for £3 a day nobody would pay for a monthly sub.

I don't watch sports, so I'm not sure. Do you mean that there's football on at the weekends but nothing you'd watch during the week, meaning you'd only pay 12 quid a month?

Re: Pay per view ?

Yeah. I've currently got Sky Sports, but I mostly watch football and formula 1, and even then I'll only watch football matches I'm actually interested in rather than just for the sake of it. Unless you're watching one of the Sports channels everyday, a daily pass of £3 would save you money over the course of a month. £9.99 might sound like a lot but actually I work shifts, and I work different days each week. Some months a day pass on a Sunday when I'm off might give me a grand prix, two premier league matches and something from la liga, and that might be all I'd manage to see all month anyway because of work. If you're going to watch more than 2 day pass worths of sport in a month then you may as well fork out for the monthly sub. I think it's well, and understandably, priced.

Fair enough, can't fault the logic. :)
