Windows 8 Tablet Wireless Connection Loss

I Have a Samsung Ativ tablet running windows 8 and every 2-5 minutes the wireless connection drops from 'connected' to 'limited' and won't fully connect unless I disconnect and connect or go through the network troubleshooter - this is obviously very frustrating. All other devices - laptops and iphones - work fine and the tablet is ok on other networks that use at work. The wireless router is a netgear.

Can anyone help?

Have you been installing regular updates?

Thanks for the reply. Yes it's all up to date. It seems to be worse in the desktop mode if that helps.

I had this last year , my lap top would loose wifi connection but at the same time my sons lap top worked ok as well as our mobils on the wifi. In the end i found out what wifi card my lap top had in it and then looked to see if there was an upgrade for my wifi card. there was so i down loaded it and every thing now works ok.

Hello all

Its full windows 8 but I believe it would be windows RT on the 'tiles'.

I'm investigating the static ip as its a work pc.

Please keep the suggestions coming as its driving me to the throw out of the window stage.

Thanks again

Paul

You're confused on the difference between Windows 8 and Windows RT. To be fair, Microsoft have done a rubbish job on explaining the difference, so it's not your fault at all.

Both Windows 8 and RT have tile and desktop interfaces. Two main differences you'll see from a user perspective is that with Windows 8 you can install software onto the desktop, which you can't do with Windows RT; and that RT includes a copy of Office 2013 RT - but if this is a work machine you might have Office 2013 installed on Win8 anyway.

I guess the most certain check is if you can install software outside of the Windows Store. If you can then it's Windows 8 otherwise it's Windows RT.
