They used to be free on Orange, until dialled-access service providers started extracting the urine with them. I'm amazed the mobile companies are going along with this, unless they have been given some guarantees protecting their profits.

They're already free on my mobile. You just have to pick your network better ;)

If you use apps like BT SmartTalk they're free already!

All Freephone numbers should be FREE hence the name Freephone!

Hope this all goes through. Then ofcom can move on to 0845 numbers :D

This android app will route 0800, 0808 and 0500 calls through a local 01* number so you can call them for free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...00Wizard&hl=en

I remember being with 02 years ago they used to include 0800 numbers in their call plans but then stopped doing so.
