Huge amount of room taken up by ads on webmail

As above. I have searched and couldn't find a solution on the forum ( or maybe I am a rubbish searcher, I am sure someone will tell me if I am :p: )

I use Chrome and I have installed the AdBlock extension, which gets rid of the banners but doesn't leave a white space, so once again I can use virgin webmail

I use Firefox and Adblock plus which seems to manage it very well.

I can set up 'safe senders' on Windows Live Mail, but how do you 'whitelist' on Virgin Mail?
