Tiger mosquitos and giant slugs are among a growing number of 'alien' species threatening UK wildlife and even people's health.

Thing is: some of us can hide the evidence ;)

Either way: it's not all bad news. We eat lots of non-native crayfish. It's our way of doing my bit for the environment :)

That's just the way of things.

I didn't realise that the rabbit isn't indigenous to the UK.

I'm sure over the past few thousand years there's many species have been introduced to the UK. That wouldn't have got here under their own steam.

not suprising and we have poor border controls.

We do sometimes get pests who airbourne just fly in those need to be monitored by have loads rangers. Job to follow critters nesting. It could be done but think we just not done enough for years to protection our natural habitats.

If anybody ever watched border control on sky its aussie one they so paranoid but it protects there wildlife.

We need to tighten it up but sadly already lost the battle. Too many species or plants brought in by people with unknown pests/parasites in them.

Crikey aussies dont even allow food. It all gets dumped. They even go on the yachts/ships dump loads food. They identify risks it gets binned in contamination boxes.

All to try protect there country.

As we island it should actually be easier to control.

Just saw pics scares hell out me that top one

Those tiger mosquito's saw one about 6 years back on holiday. Opened door caravan there it was on side. Just they are freaky big too. Went to get box put in it left. God knows how was going to try capture it.

When we started moving car the evil thing landed on window screen. That thing wanted blood.

Reported it but they never got in touch with me.
