Irfan Naseer, 31, Irfan Khalid, 27, and Ashik Ali, 27, from Birmingham, were found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court of being "central figures" in the plan.

Jurors were told they planned to set off up to eight bombs in rucksacks, using timers to detonate the charges.

Police described the men as "committed, passionate extremists".

The trio were arrested in 2011 amid fears an attack was imminent.

Detectives believe it is the most significant terror plot to be uncovered since the 2006 conspiracy to blow up transatlantic airliners using bombs disguised as soft drinks.

Khalid even boasted that the attack was "another 9/11" and "revenge for everything".

They should all be shot in front of a firing squad.

Sorry but they should be put against a wall and SHOT, they are combatants in a terrorist war who would not stop for 1 second from carrying out a mass killing. It will save us a fortune in Prison costs, travel payment for there family's, dole payments to there families, housing benefit to there family's " that is assuming they have families in this country"

Quite right. Hiding in civilian clothes, amongst a civilian population, plotting to kill and maim civilians en masse deserves the ultimate corporal punishment.

And promptly before the lawyers get too fat, or they get to coerce other inmates to their murderous "cause".

That is what worries me. My other worry is that there Lawyers jump on the human rights wagon and we have to waste millions of pounds of UK tax payers money fighting the **** through ther EU courts.
