Trains get caught short

Seems that a signalman getting stuck on a bog is the latest excuse for delays on trains : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...ester-21410006

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'd give it a few minutes ...." :erm:

Perhaps they should offer a part refund for such inconveniences caused to passengers.

For some reason I suspect a lot of people would be calmed if they heard such an excuse given for a delay! First of all it's funny, people can relate to it and being given a proper reason that cannot be foreseen is better than the generic delays that seem to occur every week (signal problems, overhead wire problems, etc)!

What winds me up is the automated announcements that apologise for each delay. It's horribly robotic and it's meaning is lost when it's so impersonal and occurs all the time. You're not 'sorry', if you were then you would have these delays less frequently.

I rather thought that den's "in-conveniences" was the perfect innuendo. Although, perhaps it's just me. Where's Mr Love Monkey when he's so badly needed? :D

He was just letting the train take the strain.

Well we've had the wrong type of snow and the wrong type of rain so why not the wrong type of loo? :)

I wonder if who ever came up with this excuse had been potty trained :erm:
