question about fpas

the snow was messing with my connection so i put one of these back on and the levels have dropped from 8 to 2.

was just wondering if its better to be a little above 0 or a little below (i also have another one if needed), and if using two fpas if it makes any difference which one is in front/behind the other.

:dunce:

Re: question about fpas

The optimum downstream range is +7 to -3. It'll work outside that range if the SNR is high. The DOCSIS spec says +15 to -15 but el cheapo kit rarely works at the extremes. For example my SH misbehaves above +7 dBmv on good SNR. Due to an area fault, it's currently struggling at between -4 and -11 dBmv across different channels with poor SNR.

So 2 dBmv is perfect. -2 dBmv is also perfect.
