VM added 8 DS now superhub crashes

My VM service went down this morning or rather the superhub died lan side. But I think the net also died as tbb graph gone red.

I power cycled it but now on power cycle it stops responding very quickly, and I cant load the US stat page at all, the DS page shows I now have 8 downstream channels. Before it crashes its also extremely laggy.

Superhub died on me? or is some other known issue.

Also the router cant fetch a WAN ip.

as far as I know my cancellation date is not until february.

Tried factory resetting the SHUB?

I did and it works in router mode.

But back in modem mode, a WAN ip wont get assigned.

Ahh, that might be normal due to the MAC changing from the SHUBs to whatever it is you're using, presumably a router (sometimes the UBRs get confused if the MAC address changes too much and if you've just had an update, it might just confuse it further).

Try this. Switch the SHUB into modem mode, then power off and remove the COAX cable. Power the SHUB back on with the coax removed and just leave it for about a min. Insert the COAX back in (WITHOUT turning the SHUB off - this is important) and give it another min.

Believe it or not, this actually does something up at the UBR end.

sorry for the delayed reply am busy with work also.

that did work, I didnt get my old ip back I have had for a number of years so looks like some proper resegment has happened as well.

That could also be a side-effect from the coax "trick", but at least it seems to be working now which is the main thing.

I sure do hope VM allows us all to have static IP blocks when IPv6 comes out.

I hope so to!!

Do you think they will try to give us less than a /64?

I wouldn't be surprised if they still only gave us a single dynamic IP, you know, just because.

I agree with that :(. If it does ever happen I'll look into using my HE assigned routed /64 and put another address on the WAN (if possible with VM firmware).

Thanks for the reply
