No aerial

Ok so we had our loft converted and as part of it had the chimney removed.

When we employed an aerial person afterwards they said it wouldn't be possible for us to have an aerial as there's nowhere to put it now. Now I think he just couldnt be bothered and since we used Sky anyway it wasn't a problem and we now have Sky in the living room and 2 multitouch subscriptions in bedrooms.

But I'd like my son in the third bedroom to just be able to view free to view channels in his bedroom. He has a freeview tv but of course, having no aerial that's no good.

So - can I buy a cheap sky box from eBay or somewhere and rig that up in his room? Will I need a card from sky and will they supply that for free? I pay them enough money from my other subscriptions! Also will I need an expert to fit it or is it easy enough to do?

Hoping someone can help.

Re: No aerial

Is there no where to fit the aerial outside on the gable or other wall ,they don't have to go on a chimney

Re: No aerial

Freesatfromsky requires a card for the free-to-view channels, which can be obtained for £25. If you get a Freesat receiver, no card is required.

Freeview aerials can easily be fitted to walls or gable ends & this does not normally increase the install price.

Re: No aerial

if you buy a skybox off ebay with a card you should still get free to air channels. I use an old box with old card as I get movies and sports free and pay sky nothing lol lol

Also he was lazy they can just erect a pole

Freesatfromsky requires a viewing card to receive Channel 5, 5+1, 5 USA, 5 USA+1, 5*, Pick TV & Pick TV +1. If you can live without these channels you don't need the card.

Re: No aerial

depending on distance from the transmitter an outside aerial could be mounted in the loft !

You can also get roof / tile anchors as well for mounting aerials on a roof
