My nice new shiny SuperHub has just been installed to replace the Virgin 256.
The engineer was very polite and helpful.
The engineer installed it and set up the SuperHub and setup the wired on my desktop and set up wireless on my laptop.
The engineer explained the settings and how to change settings.

Incidentally - were you getting 30 meg on the Ambit 256? Or is this for the upgrade?

I was getting a solid 20Mb (doubled from10Mb L tier) so this is a upgrade.
I am now a very happy bunny. :tu:

A nice 70th birthday surprise from Virgin.

I expect I will set the SuperHub in Modem mode and use my router.

Very impressed withe the Virgin engineer.

Ambit 256 can't do 30Meg. Well, it might be technically capable but virgin has never issued a DOCSIS profile for it above 20. I occasionally seen an Ambit 256 (or similar DOCSIS2 modem) on an account that was provisioned for 30Meg and they just got no service (RDY light flashing, no lock).
