Leaving VM - what happens to Mobile contracts?

Parents are thinking of leaving VM cable services this Spring; but are currently around half way through 2 year contracts with Virgin Mobile. What would happen to the Mobile contracts if they were to leave cable services - would the existing price be held until the end of the contracts?

they are supposed to loose the extra discount but ive never seen it happen
