Logging total bandwidth usage?

Is there any way to log all the bandwidth you are using through the Sky hub from the many wireless/hard wired devices that connect through it?

I don't think there is.

Figured that may be the case. How about logging via the openreach modem?

Use Networx, you can set it up to combine usage across all devices as long as they are windows so you can install it

Have android phones, TV's, WDTV live media hubs, Sky+ box with on demand, etc, so logging at the hub or modem is probably the only option.

If there is no way to do it via the Sky hub, or modified modem firmware then I may switch it with a ddwrt based router.

The modem does have counters for WAN packets and byte counts over the PTM connection, I don't know how accurate they are:

You'll get more detailed stats (e.g. traffic type, destination, port, etc.) from a proper router for sure. You could also interject a DIR-615 between the modem and the router.

The stats on the modem do look pretty basic. Would you have to put the 615 in a bridge mode to put it between the modem and sky router? Not quite sure how that works.

There is a pdf on skyuser that might help.

Basically, but you would only get the same level of detail. It would have to be your main gateway/router to get more details, and for that I'd recommend Openwrt.

Thanks for the info.

Will probably just swap the modem out and use the ddrwt one, maybe re-flashed to openwrt if there is some benefits to it I can make use of :)
