R37 , When?

Hi, Im new to the forum but thought i would join here out of desperation for information.

I expect im in the same boat as a lot of other people in as far as my Wireless home hub router from Virgin has not performed well for several months now. namely devices like phones or tablets either wont connect or try to constantly connect and dont. The result is usually to re boot the router which is usually at least daily.

I have been told that R37 will fix these issues (nice of Virgin to admit this after several months).

But when is this update coming out? Im finding this so frustrating. Its hardly a service.

You will be pleased to know that one of the main reasons for R37 is to solve this issue and apparently it does.

The latest info is that all broadband tiers will have R37 available by the 14th December 2012. Although you will need to reboot the superhub to get the update.

Please let the community know if it does fix the problems you've described. A lot of peops have R37 already, but they don't say if it's fixed anything!

Just put the superhub in modem mode and get a decent standalone router.

Mick, i might have to do this if this update does not work, but im paying for a service from Virgin, if they cant provide a wireless option for me then why am i paying for it?

Whether or not VM provide a value for money service is a whole other ballgame for another thread.

My advice was solely about the easiest way to enjoy stress free BB from the superhub. My feeling is that it will always be substandard (like most ISP supplied gear) no matter what firmware it is running.

I was asked to come back on here and report on the upgrade as it has now happend and i have given the router a few days test. It is better, you could say fixed. no need to re boot, and devices re connect when switched on or when returning into range. Like someone else i think i have detected a little more signal strength but this might be all part of the overall issue in first place. Im still annoyed that i have had several months of poor service which i have had to pay for in full when clearly Virgin knew there were issues. In some ways you could say this is a criminal act...... but why bother to ask for refunds they dont understand anyway. But yes its fixed.

Fixing the wireless reconnection makes this a worthwhile update. Not having to reboot the shub is good too.

If there are no more real bugs or problems then maybe this would be a good time to stop making more firmware updates for it. If it aint broke, don't fix it :)
