Price hike soon!

I signed up with Virgin Cable Broadband with a deal of half price for the first three months on the 60 meg service and my service started in August this year.

Just had a letter from VM informing me that the monthly cost of my cable broadband is going up by £1.75 in February 2013

There was no hint from the sales person when I subscribed to the 12 month deal that prices would be going up within 6 months!

I've been informed by BT that my local exchange is getting updated to fibre broadband soon.... I guess I'll be looking to jump ship from VM as soon as my 12 months contract is up ;)

P.s ... although I'm still finding it great to have an up to 60 meg service after years of slow ADSL broadband (average speed was about 6 megs at best), buffering of YouTube and other streamed video is a real pain. My old 6 megs ADSL broadband streamed on-line video better!

Thanks for the links :-)

I only have Cable Broadband and would have expected that the deal I bought into would have seen me through the year I signed up for, but guessing it doesnt :( .... basically they are clawing back at least some of the savings I made on the half price for 3 months deal.

Hopefully my old ISP (Sky) will have kitted out my local exchange by the end of my year's contract with VM and I'll be back with them on Unlimited fibre broadband ;)

Thanks again for the reply
