Upgrade to TiVo - how easy?
 

I currently have an old ntl set top box and I've decided to upgrade to a TiVo.

Is this just a case of swapping over the two boxes (which I can do myself) or does it require visits and rewiring?

It is unlikely to need any different cabling but does require to be installed by Virgin Media as the TiVo is more sensitive to signal issues than other boxes.

I doubt that rewiring will be necessary, but as RE said power levels may need attention. It's possible that the installing tech may need to move your tap in the street cabinet. VM won't send a Tivo for self install.
