there is another thread in which this has been discussed at length but suffice to say that there is a big problem and I think it is something to do with VMs youtube cache servers.

Wow, that is class! "Intermittent buffering when trying to stream video from some sites". How about "It's dire most of the time".

Re: YouTube Buffering Issues...

It's dire during peak 6pm - 10pm and has been for a long time. Virgin is broadband for vampires. Jumping ship as soon as a viable alternative is available to a provider that doesn't prioritise headline speed to the detriment of the whole network.

Re: YouTube Buffering Issues...

just gone 60meg today and youtube vids was fine during the day with a nice buffer, now at 5.15 all youtube vids i'm having to wait to load and when it does the dreaded buffer every few seconds.

well done Virgin......................NOT!

Re: YouTube Buffering Issues...

all do yourselves a favour and switch of a fibre broadband service like BT Infinity or Sky Fibre. I did and never have any buffering from it, ever.

Well yeah, the problem is Virgin->YouTube, with keepvid, the video is going from YouTube->KeepVid->Virgin bypassing the bottleneck

Probably facebook looking up the URL, bypassing Virgin's cache server
