Re: Firmware R37
I'm using the R36T13 trial firmware, any chance you can tell me where the config file showing the primary upstream or primary downstream service flow has gone? I've posted in the relevant trial forum, but not received a response. Ta

Isn't where it's always been - in the router status pages accessed top right through the admin login screen

Re: Firmware R37
Typical, I've just pulled the trigger on a d-link 615 router too to solve my wireless problems...

Re: Firmware R37
I pulled the trigger on a TL-WDR4300

Re: Firmware R37
Interesting, I'd be curious to know how you get on with that, looks to be a nice piece of kit.

Re: Firmware R37
It's pretty cheap for a simultaneous dual-band (£50-ish) and improves on the faults of the previous 450Mbps TP-Link (specifically that the CPU was too slow to do more than ~280Mbps).

Re: Firmware R37
£50ish? Cheapest I can find is closer to £90ish. A pity because it DOES look a nice bit of kit.

Re: Firmware R37
Current bid on mine is £45 on eBay but Google Shopping shows many retailers at around ~£60 including delivery and "mainstream" ripoff shops selling at about £80 (e.g. Maplin). Its smaller brother (TL-WR3600 300 + 300) is about £10 less all round.
With hardware NAT making it capable of around 1Gbps routed internet speeds, and reasonable (the WR2543ND wasn't superb) simultaneous dual-band wireless it's probably everything the Superhub *should* have been. And yet a small almost no-name Chinese company have managed to design and build the hardware and firmware for two generations of routers in the time it's taken Netgear to get their firmware from R30 to R37 on a single router... Makes me wonder. |

Re: Firmware R37
Admittedly I hadnt heard of Huawei until they made the Openreach modem and BT homehub, then when it surfaced they would be making the next superhub I looked into them and they make alot of things. Mostly components more than end user devices though

Re: Firmware R37
I've pulled the trigger on my DIR 615 as the SHUB is complete pants. They shouldn'y be able to advertise it as Super at all.

Re: Firmware R37
Welcome to the 615 club (I just joined too) so far it's not dropped any wireless signal, and the range is a little better in the house than the SHub, main thing is though it's hanging on to that signal miles better than the SHub which by the end was losing Wi-Fi completely1-2 times a day randomly and would drop the signal at quite a short range.
---------- Post added at 08:57 ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 ---------- Now I'm on modem mode, how would I know when I get the R37 or other updates? would I still get them? would I need to revert back to router mode periodically to 'update'? |
