Toshiba

Just got nd installed a Toshiba with Freeview - seems to be going ok so far - when you select a channel, it gives various info but each different channel seems to have different S & Q levels - anyone know what these mean

Also, is there a way of testing signal strength/quality???

You answered your own question. S&Q = Strength&Quality :)

That is what your Q & S display is there for, as a guide for troubleshooting.
Signal quality is the most important value, don't worry too much about the signal strength.

As a rule of thumb signal quality should be in the 80 - 100% range. Signal strength can be acceptable as low as 50% as long as it's stable.

Perhaps more annoyingly, different receivers have different sensitivity levels, so even if you did have a tester, there is no guarantee that all sets will work equally well on that installation.
