Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
Was going to watch Sky 1's Moone Boy last night off on-demand, but the HD version is a 16:9 image squashed into a 4:3 box in the middle of the screen. This seems to affect a bunch of other programmes as well - A Touch of Cloth and Mad Dogs series 2 for example.
Surprised nobody's noticed and reported it... |
Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
I`ve noticed that when watching Stargate SG1 on Sky 1 Hd, so I have to watch it in SD

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
New HD programmes from Sky 1 on TV On Demand are still appearing all squashed.

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
Can you suggest a couple of current programmes that do this? I've just checked HD Mad Dogs (S2): Ep4, and it is correct for me. I only have SD episodes of Moone Boy and Stargate SG-1.

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
Try Spy S2E1. This is on a V-HD box in case it makes a difference. There have been some shows that have been fine - Mad Dogs series 1 I think was ok.
Pressing fast forward on Sky shows also causes the "TV on demand is not currently available" message. ---------- Post added at 17:52 ---------- Previous post was at 17:11 ---------- Should also note Mad Dogs S2E4 is fine (and fast forwards fine), but S2E1 and S2E2 both have the aspect ratio and fast forwarding problem. On Spy there's also clunks on the audio at the start and end of the promo. |
Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
I thought Sky On Demand HD was TiVo only?

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
The promo at the start has the aspect ratio wrong too.

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
OK, I see the problem now. The aspect ratio is only wrong on the V-HD, but fast-forward won't work on any of the boxes. There's something odd about the way these have been encoded.
Is essjay about? |

Re: Sky Anytime HD aspect ratio
Managed to replicate the FFW / RWD fault unable to test V-HD at the moment.
