Acton UBR 100Mbit upgrade?

I've got the 50Mbit XXL broadband package and I'm connected to the Acton UBR.

Does anyone know when I might get my speed doubled to 100Mbit? Apparently it was due to be completed in July, but I'm still stuck at 50Mbit.

I checked the Virgin Double speed site, and it says: Congratulations! The new double speed boosts are already up and running in your area.

Is anyone else connected to the Acton UBR and is on 100Mbit?

I keep calling Virgin but they just keep fobbing me off saying that I have to wait until I get a letter through. Surely if the network has been upgraded, then it should just be a simple case of flipping a switch at HQ?

Have you tried rebooting your modem/superhub whatever?

there are two different types of upgrades dude. I believe all areas were 100mbit enabled by the end of last year but the free upgrades are different and required extra juice being added/ That being said, if myvirginmedia says you have been upgraded then you should have been. Have you had a look at the config in the shub to see what speed you have been provisioned for and what your power levels etc are like?

I called up retentions yesterday and threatened to leave and sign up to BT Infinity. The lady on the line asked me to hold, had a word with her supervisor and then came back and said there's no reason why we can't upgrade you here and now.

After about 5 minutes the modem rebooted and was connected at 100Mbit.

I am glad you have been upgraded but they only did what they should have done anyway dude. Nice to see it all worked. Although some peeps will say 100mbit is too fast and they dont need the speed, it sure is sweet :)
