CM18 speeds

Does anybody know if there are issues in the CM18 area? For the past 5 days my speeds are poor to none. Today using speedtest, my download is between 0.5MB and 7.MB, the upload does not register.

I spoke to offshore support and they say there are no issues in the area, but I am not sure about that as I have been up this road before.

Any info would be appreicated.

Thanks
Steve

Re: CM18 speeds

Hi,

You need them to send an engineer out as your power levels are over the recommended limit.

Between -3 and +7 is recommended.

Virgin tech just popped around and fixed my power levels. Good guy who took time to explain a few things. Fasted turn around yet for Virgin well done.

Re: CM18 speeds

Since the engineer came round and sorted out my power levels, once again I am getting consistent 100+ MB downloads. But I cannot get above 5 MB uploads, what would cause that issue? I spoke to the "offshore support" and their response was. It is advertised as "up to 10", I thought that was now not permitted as a provider had to supply a certain percentage of their advertised speed.

Thanks
Setch

No, it's up to 5. Where did you see it advertised as up to 10?

I was not given the free 50MB to 100MB upgrade. I actually pay for 100MB and my understanding has always been that I should be getting 10MB upload speeds.

First check what you are provisioned for..
Go to your SHs web pages and click the Router Status button (top right)
Then click Operation Configuration and look under the Primary Upstream Service Flow for Max Traffic Rate.

Then log into My Virgin Media and check what package you are on.

If you a recent customer then you may be on the XXL100 package (which is the already doubled previous 50M package). This only has a 5Mb/s upstream rate at present.
