ping and jitter

hi. its prob been asked a million times and i have had quite a few chats whith 150 but can any thing be done with my high ping and jitter. some days its better than others.getting fed up with virgin think i might try bt at least changing might get online gaming better. fed up with lag.you would think having 100 meg would give you top performance but it was better with a 20 meg from sky.lol sorry for the slip into a rant but gaming has been pants for months any help from anyone would be great thanks.

nope. There was another thread about this a couple of days ago and apparently jitter os unavoidable on cable due to how the technology works. If you need a squeeky clean connection then you need to look at BT Infinity

I just wanted to point out that Ping and jitter are relative to where you are sending your traffic.

Can you be a bit more specific about what problems you are actually getting, and what testing you have done .
