Charging to disconect out of contract ADSL
 

House move to a new local, still couldn't get Cable and the national speed was very slow. SO opted as I needed a line installed for the phone to go to BT line install was going to be free.....Virgin are charging £24 to discconect and my monthly bill ontop!!!
You can imagin what i wanted to say but kept calm. No "what can we do for you" after 15 years or so! Telewest, Blueyonder then Virgin cable - Virgin National. I can still feel the boot up my posterior, couldn't get rid of me quick enough.
And here was me going to hang on till cable came along and get the full monty packages.....sorry VM your customer care stinks.

It's a BT charge for disconnecting without moving to another provider.

trouble is I am going to another provider BT, keeping my same phone pckages as well, as they offered free line connection and a cheaper Broadband deal, suited to my family needs.

Then get a MAC code and there should be no disconnection fee.

He can't..
The MAC applies to the line and it will be a different one because it's a house move. Staying with the same provider usually means they will absorb it but somebody still has to pay Openreach.
