Changing/Downgrading Tivo to V+?
 

Hi,

We was installed yestarday as we had moved and the new house wasn't cabled up. Anyway we had Tivo fitted in the front room, before we moved we had V+ box.

My dad is having a hard time with the Tivo, as he had got use to the V+ box, he doesn't seem happy with the Tivo and is 65yrs old, so doesn't like change when in comes to the TV side.

I was wondering is it possible to get the Tivo downgraded to a V+ box, if so, do you know what sort of costs be involed?

Our contract started yestarday for 18 months, we have 7 days to cancel from yestarday the 14th, so we have to the 21st, to get this sorted before we stuck in the contract.

I do believe that Virgin no longer offer the V+ as a replacement for TiVo. It may be worth sending an email to the CEO office and explain the situation about your elderly father etc.
I have the CEO email and could PM it to you if interested?

I'm sure they will change it for a V+, especially if you're within the 'cooling off' period.
Just tell them members in your household can't get used to the Tivo box, but you want a box that has a record function. If they won't change it, tell them you'll have to cancel then and you will have to call Sky instead.

Not on this forum try searching for it and you will find many posts with the email address, I think you are confusing this forum with the community forum where you cannot post any addresses email or snailmail.;)

However Mr Branson is only 62 and he got Doctor Who to show him how to use Tivo

I have spoken with my dad about this and he has decided to keep the Tivo.
So I will try and teach my mum how to do the basic.

The main thing my dad is having problems with is, the arrows shaped buttons on the V+ used to display the mini guide and you have to press OK button first.

I think the main problem it is different, he also had the same when they got the V+ box, took him awhile to get use to that

My parents are around the same age as yours, Gaz and they could both use the original Tivo (not much different to the VM version) with no problems at all. In fact, the fact that my mother could use it so well came as a surprise to us all :D

My advice would be to tell them to stick with it :)
