Warning, not for the easily offended. Request for a favour from a VM TiVo user.

Can someone please go backwards on the EPG and let me know what was on Sky Arts2 HD at midnight just gone.

I've just seen what a friend posted last night on a social networking site. He seems a little shocked at what he saw when he turned on the television. It must have been shocking if he is taken aback, as he's probably seen it all as he is a professional drag artist!

I've copy/pasted what he said below, but deliberately left a long space so that, hopefully, anyone easily offended won't be exposed to it.

What on earth were they showing last night!!! Perhaps Mary Whitehouse had a point!!!

"I don't expect to turn on my TV and be faced with a dignified looking victorian woman being -MOD EDIT- on a chaise-long by her maid... Bet that wasn't in the job description when she applied. X"

In response, a lady wrote this about what another channel was showing at the same time:

"eeww, i just turned on the tv to find a chinese woman pushing out a boiled egg. Derty."

What on earth could this have been (i'm assuming the worst regarding where the chinese woman was pushing it from.)

On the programme about 50 Shades Of Grey, I myself was taken aback that a woman was openly talking about -MOD EDIT-

Personally I found nothing wrong with the programme about that 50 Shades nonsense.

Its 2012 I still find it odd that people can get offended by something on TV, if its not to your liking just change the channel. There are hundreds of them.

Please remember this is a family friendly forum so please be careful about what you post.

Nothing to do with "50 Shades..." from what I can tell. Digiguide confirms this.

There was a C4 show on from 2200 for an hour; but that's it.

It was this

Hardly something that you don't see already.

Sorry. My mistake. I think that was a separate comment by Richard.

Also, that show was on 2200-2300 and 0200-0300 so not "at midnight" at all. Which is why I couldn't find anything :D

Well this was on at midnight so it can't have been it, lol.

Indeed i find it difficult to gather how adults in this day and age don't know how to use the channel change or off button :D

In the Realm of the Senses,Nagisa Oshima (1976) which was highly controversial..and I have seen it once..Channel 4 or 5 sometime ago..It's actually a Japanese woman..

I can't link to the best site for info because it's not suitable.

I wasn't offended, just taken back a little.

I starred out some of the letters in the hope that adults would get the gist of what was said, but so that children wouldn't understand.

You are missing the point - it is not if you were offended, it is about others being potentially offended.

If you use asterisks to take out letters from an inappropriate word, the word is still recognisable (otherwise, what would be the point), and this is against Site T&Cs.

Handy rule of thumb - if you think you have to warn people they may be offended, or is it Not Suitable For Work, it shouldn't be posted.

Re: Warning, not for the easily offended. Request for a favour from a VM TiVo user.

I was referring to Stephens post, (not this thread) "Its 2012 I still find it odd that people can get offended by something on TV, if its not to your liking just change the channel. There are hundreds of them."

I initially thought that Stephen meant that I should change channel if I was offended, but he probably meant people in general.

Either way, I wasn't offended, just a bit taken aback that a woman could talk so casually about such a sex act! All the talk of whips etc didn't worry/surprise me at all, as the BDSM scene is growing rapidly in the UK. There is a nationwide organisation that hires some of our club premises during downtime to hold BDSM events. I really do wonder if books like 50 Shades of Grey have helped to fuel this interest?

Thank you for your advice Re:asterisks.

I'm not sure if he has VM or Sky. IIRC we don't have +1's for Sky Arts on VM (I can't check as i'm a hotel at the moment), do Sky customers?

Maybe he was watching on the +1 channel, but he did specifically say he was watching on HD, AFAIK, there aren't any +1 HD channels
