but then that defeats the object of having a wireless setup and a wireless hub that should do this with no problem

will try wired tommorow and let you know my results

is the superhub dualband? im jsut looking to see which pci n card to pickup and notice some are dualband, 450 or do i just got a 300 ?

Re: just has 60mb installed

Dual band refers to 2.4GHz or 5GHz. The Superhub will only work with one or the other and not both together.

What you almost certainly want is a 2.4GHz N adaptor and 150 would be fine as 300 and 450 in most locations will cause and suffer interference or if well behaved just drop back to 150.

If you only have the one WiFi device and it's in the same room the 5GHz may be worth a look and then 300/450 would probably be OK too. That will be more expensive.

Incidentally 25Mbps on G is doing very well indeed - it frequently tops out at only just over 20Mbps.

A dualband PCI card will be more futureproof but more expensive too.

Re: just has 60mb installed

i have decided to go with some ethernet power plugs to connect my pc upstairs to my router downstairs as i will get that much better connection using them, and as some of my other wifi devices arent N capable it all seems pointless so i would not get the top speed from my pc going down the wireless route

Rubbish.

They all use the exact same amount of bandwidth and will cause and suffer the same amount of interference. Only a 300 card will "drop down" to 144 whereas a 150 will "drop down" to 72.
