Yes! No more alternative universe. Although that does mean no more Lincoln.

So season 5 is set in the future ?

Re: Fringe Season 5

I'm guessing so, it wouldn't be a bad thing though. Unless the first episode is how they get ambered and the rest is in the future. I wouldn't mind that.

I'd love to see it continued in books.

Yep. And mankind is at war with the observers. It's the future seen in Episode 19 of season 4..

Another trailer..

Actually, that article raises an interesting point. While some of the Fringe stories have been typical sci-fi monster-of-the-week stuff, a lot have been excellent, and the cast have been excellent (particularly the actors playing Walter/Walternate and Olivia/Fauxlivia). The special FX have been uniformly excellent (I still look in awe at the shot at the end of Season 1 where Olivia is standing looking out a window, and the camera pulls back to reveal that the window is on the top floor of one of the World Trade Center towers).

I think they both deserve an Emmy for their acting.

So, the two-part finale aired in the US last night, and also aired in the UK at the same time on Sky 1.

Some lovely character moments (e.g. Walter & Astrid), but... A poor end to a poor season, IMO.

Lazy cop-out reset-button ending.

Re: Fringe Season 5

Instead of having 2 convos:

Blah blah blah, Olvia blah blah blah. Blah blah blah Walter. :D

Nah erm it was a massive cop out. I hate reset buttons. Considering everything that happened it meant nothing. Losing Nina meant nothing. As you said on BXB, the only season that actually happened was 4. It makes you wonder what was the point in the other 4.

Reset-button endings are pathetic :(

Re: Fringe Season 5

*sigh* Just watched the final two, well disappointed.

TBH, I think the whole of season 5 was a waste of time, seems like something someone made up at the last minute after unexpectedly getting a fifth season .....
