Voip connection

Can a Voip telephone connection be made using a homeplug style network or does it have to be connected directly to the router? Im trying to extend my home network to include my garden office and its too far to reach with the cordless phone signal.

Any help gratefully recieved.

Cheers

Re: Voip connection

Voip phone worked fine when connected to the router. Now i have set up an office in the garden using a devolo 200 homeplug and the phone wont work. Its an ordinary phone and i am using the adapter/splitter that came with the BT business hub. It worked fine on the router but not on the homeplug. Should i be doing something different?
Cheers
