Type of HDD in various sky sat boxes?
Hello
There are lots of secondhand Sky Sat boxes available. While they might not be able to record TV programs the HDD is ok. Has anyone a list of what type of HDD's are fitted to the various sky model numbers available please? I'm looking for ideally an IDE 500Gb drive but a 250Gb would do (I have several 500Gb SATAs but they are the wrong type). Which sky boxes have IDE drives fitted. Thanks Brian |
Re: Type of HDD in various sky sat boxes?
I think the IDE drives were in the earlier Sky+ models (with the white front) and the hard disks would have been a lot smaller.
Mine was 80GB. |

Yeah, I think it's a long time since they used IDE.
My old Thomson Sky+HD box (very first model from 2007) used SATA. |

Our Sky+ (about 2009) IIRC had a Western Digital Green 320Gb SATA. It's now the secondary drive in another PC for storage.
