60mb upgrade today
Hi
I had a visit today from an engineer who upgraded me to a superhub for the 60mb broadband package. I tested while he was here and told him I was still on 10mb after the superhub had been set up. I was told that the superhub would keep ping checking and gradually increase it's speed itself. I have been checking every so often and after a few hours still have the same speed as my previous package 10mb. I just wanted to know if this was correct or should I be ringing up Virgin so they can resend the activation or something? I was also going to try to reset the superhub. I read from another forum post about checking the settings of the superhub to see if I have been provisioned correctly. Primary Downstream Service Flow Downstream(0) Max Traffic Rate 10240000 bps Max Traffic Burst 3044 bytes Mix Traffic Rate 0 bps |
Re: 60mb upgrade today
Thats a 10Mb provision (Max Traffic Rate: 10240000 == 10Mb)
Cable doesn't need to "settle in" or anything, its not ADSL. The update should have been instant, to the best of my knowlege. Sounds like you were fed some moo-excrement to get the call closed. Try rebooting the superhub (power off for at least 30 seconds). If that doesn't work, I personally would call back. |
Re: 60mb upgrade today
Yeh reset the superhub and it's still the same.
So I guess I gotta ring up and they will be able to sort it via the phone and resetting the superhub again? |
Re: 60mb upgrade today
Yeap, they should be able to send the 60mb config file to your modem without any issues.

Re: 60mb upgrade today
As said above call up C/S and they should sort it right away. I'm amazed at how much BS comes out of these engineers.
