Is Maude becoming liability for government - with another gaffe

If he not satisfied with jerrycangate he gone put foot in it again.

Seems Cameron put in as shield against cash for access but maude not up to pressure cracking.

He now said

Quote:

it would be a ‘compliment’ if Britain were seen as a place where foreigners or businesses paid little or no tax.
think sooner he consigned back benches it seems the better.

Poor maude not liking the limelight

His views outragiously shocking I hope he alone in this view.

If I own a business overseas and tax is liable there, why should I pay tax AGAIN on that same income? You could end up paying more in tax than you actually earned.

Wouldn't it be better that they spend(property, items, staff, investments) it, in this country than elsewhere?

and this is what he actually said

Quote:

And that is exactly what we’re trying to do. We want Britain to be a place where people don’t mind being taxed – a good place to be taxed, where you can put your ideas to work, your money to work, build businesses, create wealth, create jobs. That is unequivocally a good thing.’
It is easy to misconstrue his meaning but i actually think he means he wants to encourage wealth into the country by means of tax concessions ,he just didn't say it very well

it sounds admirable but there has to be guard we cant be seen soft touch. If all countrys stopped tax havens we would be better off in the world. Infact go the other way what would happen to worlds governments if we did not tax them.

Problem with those believe the world owe them something in return providing jobs. Which we should look it another way they should be thankful people buy there services/goods if that did not happen they would be stumped out of business.

The other some these people have used public state to pay low wages to maximise profits let state use tax credit.

Maybe if they asset to the country ie pay enough wages to all staff to eliminate tax credit. Dont use practices to not pay tax then as reward they get this tax reduction.

Just giving it to all to me sends wrong signals of being soft touch that we too cosy, too frightened.

nomadking I would assume capital raised by individuals in uk would be taxed.

Now if he got property in three different countries then its his problem not uk would be taxed accordingly.

One issue dont like those who move about ie live here 6 months somewhere else to circumvent being taxed some worse 3 months everywhere.

That is correct ,we can't have companies and people using this country to dump their money and us not get anything out of it,i have no problem with companies coming here and paying minimal tax because i think the benefits of employment and the money the employees spend and pay in taxes far outweighs the tax a company will pay

They don't make things up as much as print an entirely incorrect story then in the very last paragraph finish up with....

"When we contacted xxxxxxxx they confirmed that this story is completely untrue" So they can't be sued.
