How to connect telewest broadband cable to tv?

Hi,
I am new to UK and we recently moved into a new rental house. Since i need only ceebies for my son i dont want to go for any service provider. In our old house all i did was to connect the aerial coax cable wire to tv(with inbuilt free view box) and search for signal and it was working. Now in my new house i could find is two wire from telewest broadband box one is already connected to netgear for internet and its working. Other wire i connected to tv and tried to find the signal but i couldnt. Am i missing something??? Is that wire is not for tv?? Is there any solution without going to service provider. I dont want to pay monthly 20+ pound just for ceebies.
I would be thankful if somebody could clarify this to me.

look in the local paper for someone able to sort your aerial cable or do it yourself

Depends on your location and distance from the transmitter as to whether a set-top aerial will work. Put you postcode into Wolfbane's coverage predictor & it will give you some idea of what is needed.

You could have connected the Telewest/Virgin Cable directly to your TV and picked up free to view Analogue channels including BBC news but Virgin Media have recently ended that, if you have a defunct Telewest/Virgin set digital set top box, you can still view free to view BBC channels through that and there is no law to stop you afterall it is there responsibility to collect there equipment when a customers ends there service. Or if you're an existing customer you can add M+ TV package for about £7 per month which is the minimum TV package and unlike freeview, it has catch up tv as well as Sky1
