Wow this very interesting development we could have upto 240 Doctors set to stand in next general election against coalisition MP's.

Personally would love this to grow take all MP's out Labour/LibDem and conservative they all should rot in political wilderness. I would vote for them we might just have our political vote next time I hope this Grows..

Dr Clive Peedell, a cancer specialist and co-chair of the NHS Consultants' Association, organised the letter.
He told the newspaper he had originally hoped to get just 50 names.
Dr Peedell said the group would field "as many candidates as possible" at the general election, with other supporters acting in administrative and fundraising roles.

shows you how many doctors willing to sacrifice there trade to take the fight to those politians.

240 Doctors willing to do this shows the level feelings about the bill.

Its sad sad state of affairs why cant the government sit down with all concerned make policy which is good for patients not there private friends and there own private health firms.

Waste of time.

I want a doctor to treat the sick not be an MP. What happens to the sick and in fact what happens when the Doctors find out how much they can scam in expenses, They will never want to work again

I would not vote for them as i want a MP to do his job not get elected and then NOT do his job as an MP because his time is taken up in his or her real job.

I just find it strange that doctors want to oppose changes that give them more control over their budgets .

My problem martyh with doctors possibly controlling their own budgets is are they actually financially savvy enough to control their own financial budgets.

That doesn't matter because most have already stated that a management company will be employed to take care of that aspect ,the doctors will merely direct where the money is spent .You will have a number of surgeries in an area merged together with a management company to take care of the day to day finances

There many MP's & Lords from both sides set to make mint out this reform.

Think if these Doctors want to make stand I will support them but they must go for those who using political privilage knowing vested interest outside there MP's status.

Starters the should stand against those on that blog who MP's not just coalition MP's.

martyh because once you get by the sweetner alot of the bill is a crock of rubbish they see it. Not all docs want the responsibilty see that they would have tell patients they cant have this due to funds drying. My GP said he dont want it but the been forced to setup part the surgery for the administration of the funding, ready for the changes. Which gets me why they doing it before the bill comes law, coalition confident it will get in.

End of the day its sad Doctors forced to do this

I could only assume there willing to walk away from job they love to be MP's sad state affairs if thats the case.

l am afraid l don't share your confidence in this at all and as for management companies being employed to take care of that aspect well thay does not fill me with confidence if l am to be perfectly honest.

I don't understand your objection to a person trained in finance control ,controlling finance ,every company has accountants so why would a gp consortia be any different ,this will explain it better
