---------- Post added at 15:45 ---------- Previous post was at 15:38 ---------- At 50 pounds over budget, this is both amp and speakers. There could be other options; I found that after a very quick look and don't know what it sounds like http://www.richersounds.com/product/...96/yama-yht196 |

I'm not sure if you can get anything decent for under £150 though. ---------- Post added at 15:49 ---------- Previous post was at 15:48 ---------- Yeah, that's not bad for the price :tu: |

Re: Cinema Sound
You can pick up a DVD 5.1 home theater system for that kind of money. So long as it has an optical connection you'll be fine. Works a treat for me just pass the sound from the TiVo through the home theater. Simple.

Re: Cinema Sound
thanks for the info. Got a Blu ray player so the DVD Cinema Systems are a bit redundant for me...just want the speakers.

You'll still need a surround sound amp 5 speakers and an optional amp.
Why not go for a cinema amp and 3 front speakers fronts left & right abd centre speakers to start off and add then add surround speakers and sub if you want down the line. You can then also connect your Blu ray player to your new amp. |

There is an 'all in one' section which covers amp/speaker combo units and you can also look in the separate 'AV Amplifiers and recievers' section and 'speakers' section as people often ask for advice on good amp and speaker pairings in these latter two sections. They also have a section for stereo amps. http://www.avforums.com/forums/index.php |
Re: Cinema Sound
I got a set of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harman-Kardo...0552246&sr=8-1 and am very impressed by them. Connected by 3.5mm to the headphone socket, headphone volume on telly turned to max, speakers turned to max and am able to control volume using TiVo remote.

Sorry meant optional subwoofer

Re: Cinema Sound
Hey everyone! i was just wandering about something, basically I've built a custom home cinema (spent a fair bit of money i might add) but i now need some quality speakers/subwoofers etc. i have a budget of around 2 - 2,500 but i want to make sure i get a quality product that isn't going to blow out when i'm enjoying a film or saving the world while playing Call of Duty on my xbox! haha. so far i have had a look at these home cinema speakers and they have been shortlisted as a potential, but if anyone else has any other ideas before i spend a SMALL fortune on some new kit please do let me know, as saving money on this purchase would also be a bonus!
cheers :) |
