breakdown figures of fraud and unclaimed
Not sure this been posted but interesting perspective so if every person claimed what there entitled.
I did see programme where there been task force setup visiting households in stoke on trent. Aim was to get people on the correct benefits theyre entitled. No fraud is good whether welfare or business/individuals tax evading. We need system which tackles all fraud but should not however at expense making disabled/individuals feel like they hounded or made to think they worthless or scapegoats. Equally surely there should be massive drive to get down unclaimed entitled money. It maybe multitude of reasons feeling of proud and dont want it, being discouraged/wrongly advised or even the political climate we in might make people say dont want the hassle. Carer's Allowance - 3.9% - £60m JSA - 3.4% - £150m Income Support - 2.8% - £220m Pension Credit - 1.6% - £140m Housing Benefit - 1.4% - £300m Council Tax Benefit - 1.3% - £60m DLA - 0.5% - £60m Incapacity Benefit - 0.3% - £20m http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd2/...pr10_mar11.pdf IS & ESA (Income related) - 260,000 - 620,000 entitled but not claiming - total unclaimed £0.75 billion - £2.04 billion. Pension Credit - 1.21 million - 1.58 million entitled but not claiming - total unclaimed £1.94 billion - £2.80 billion. Housing Benefit - 0.75 million - 1.14 million entitled but not claiming - total unclaimed £1.85 billion - £3.10 billion. Council Tax Benefit - 2.34 million - 3.20 million entitled but not claiming - total unclaimed £1.7 billion - £2.42 billion. JSA (Income based) - 440,000 - 610,000 entitled but not claiming - total unclaimed £1.28 billion - £1.95 billion. http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/index.php?page=irb |

Claiming should be LAST resort when someones in dire need of help not something that should be tapped into because of someones lifestyle being that of illegal activity.
My personal gripe? certain people committing fraud thinking they can cause problems for others. They get away with it too shifting the blame on others. ---------- Post added at 20:50 ---------- Previous post was at 20:45 ---------- interesting posts here http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/20...-increase.html Have things changed? Well judging by my experience happening right now no! The people twist the truth and all is well, they get away committing fraud as well as causing problems. Would you believe it if I told you council tenants causing problems, committing fraud brainwash council workers shifting the blame elsewhere. And to top it racism is accepted. |
