Sound Levels

I have noticed that HD channels and BBC Iplayer play louder than the SD channels. Is there a setting on TIVO to make all Volume levels the same?

Most modern TV's have something named auto sound or similar in there sound settings, turn it on and this usually does the trick.

Doly volume control? My TVs do nothing even with this set to high. I thought they were meant to stop ads being loud too?

Sorry to hear it does not work for you. On my two Samsung Tv's it either raises or lowers the sound level depending on the input it also stops the loud burst from ads. I would add that I do not have TiVo so I am unsure whether this has any bearing on your issue.

Dolby volume control will only work on channels transmitted in dolby with drc present, most stereo channels on virgin are pcm and thats why your tv doesn't seem to have any effect... it's highly likely that the samsung tv has it's own eq / compression algorthm in place that works on all sound formats.
