Free TV service going??
Do I remember reading somewhere that the free TV service (free with the phone line I mean) is going to be phased out shortly?
I'm just after some clarification? Because if it goes I might as well ditch the phone line , and let go of the associated bundle deal , stick with the broadband and add in a mobile contract of some sort! |
Re: Free TV service going??
If it is, it won't be for those on it, only those that want to go on it.

That went ages to new customers, the minimum tv package now is M+. To be honest, it was just a way to get people to have a Virgin phone line and a way with competing with BT and TalkTalk who were not offering Digital TV with the phone service at the time. Also when this package started in 2007, Sky 1 and Sky News were not available! and also they want all customers to have Tivo, I don't think the M package would be very profitable if it was free.

I suspect VM want customers to pay for their TV service to help them invest in it more. |

But, how retentions will do it is very clever! They will offer the customer XL TV free for 2 or 3 months 'You can cancel at anytime' that old trick! Then when the customer does, they will be put on the M+ package and be told they can't have the Free M TV package anymore. |

But they are not lying or saying anything misleading unless the customer asks can I moved back onto the free M plus package at the end, and if the advisor says yes and you clearly can't, then that is when it is wrong.
Vodafone are terrible for this, especially if you have Stop the clock, they want rid of it and any customers who have it you get calls every month or so to try a different plan or additional minutes ect.... then when you agree they never mention that Stop the clock can't be retained. |

But, I would expect if it were the case that Virgin Media wouldn't allow customers to downgrade back to M, then it would part of the call for it to be proactively advised to the customer |

But as for lying, Vodafone agents have to be the worst, and its not the overseas ones either, its the UK based ones. They will do anything to sign you up to anything. |
