Gold rush Alaska Season 1 & 2

Came across season 1 last year about a group of out of work Oregon friends who as a last ditch resort to earn money for their families decide to up sticks and go mining for gold at Porcupine Creek in Alaska.
The first season see's a lot of disapointment with very little to show for their hard work & actually making a substantial loss.
Season 2 follows on with their efforts this time at a new claim further north at Quartz Creek. The TV production crew also follow 2 other mining operations in season 2, that of the Big Nugget mine run by a 91yr old miner John & his grandson Parker which is situated just across the creek from Porcupine with whom the Hoffman seek advice from in S1 & Fred Hurt & his son's attempt at porcupine creek (bit of a claim jump 22nd century style) which you'll find out about towards the end of S1 & beginning of S2.

Really enjoyable if you like this sort of documentary.

I love it despite Jack Hoffmans realy annoying voice :D .The underhand way that Fred got the Porcupine creek claim off the Hoffmans would have probably got him shot 150yrs ago

If you like this then there is also Bering Sea Gold which deals with those dredging off the Alaskan coast in boats which could be best described as ramshackle.. When one of the larger boats has broken thrusters they use an excavator as a paddle
