Correct NTL email account settings

Hi , I have had an NTL email accounts for many many years, suddenly I cannot send email - however I can receive emails ok. I have searched the net and have tried various fixes but nothing works , has Virgin Media changed SMTP settings ...I am using Outlook 2007. If anyone has the correct new settings would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Try the Virgin Media website under help heading and follow the links.

Change outgoing smtp setting to virginmedia.com and it will send. There have been problems with some of the other servers like ntlworld.com etc.

It would of been nice if VM had actually bothered to tell their customers. I have had this issue too.
Do I need to change to another server or is this a temporary glitch??
A bit of communication would be nice if there is an issue.

It's a fault. It was listed on the status page a couple of days ago, but I can't log in to check again now.

Regardless, you can permanently change your outgoing server to smtp.virginmedia.com. Make sure you use your full ntlworld.com email address as the username, not just the bit before '@'.

The ntlworld.com server has now supposedly been fixed, but Virgin Media prefer users to use the virginmedia.com server. I assume that the other servers will eventually be discontinued.
