Pre RS Errors

I am using the HD channel 150 as 105 has a signal issue apparently, I use this connected by scart on a STB HD STB, because I don't have an HD TV as yet, but my question is what are those pre RS errors? I noticed that I have some of these showing on some of the HD channels, am I seeing these because I am not using an HDMI cable?

When I mention these errors I am not seeing any visual or sound faults but curious why these errors are being reported in the log?

The only sound/visual errors are showing intermittently on CH105 on VM.

A pre error is a signal error entering the box, the box can correct it sometimes or a post error will happen, this is an error the box hasn't corrected and usually results in a picture breakup

They are errors in the signal, but the box was able to correct them so it didn't affect your picture. It's nothing to worry about, and nothing to do with you using SCART.

So a post error is one that the box hasn't corrected, so if I do see a picture breakup then I would normally see both a pre and post error on the log at the same time?

I have noticed that if I change channel and go back to say CH150 the pre error can change from say 2 to 8.

Pre errors to a certain point the box can be corrected. Post errors are what you would see as a picture break up when the box can not correct the error.Mobile phones near the box can cause this as do wireless routers when sat on top of the box :)

Thanks very much for that, so nothing much to worry about then.
