As the thread title states. I ordered mine for installation next Friday.

cool, hope all goes well. I would advise you to keep your current router and still use it with the shub in modemo mode.

Install went well... But after a day I have stuck the SuperHub in modem only mode and reconnected my old router.

Aesthetically the design is good (in my opinion), but the erratic performance, dosen't instill in me any faith in this hardware.

Can anyone recommend a decent Gigibit router?

:)

Absolutely dude, you cant go wrong with linksys. The e2000 is a solid entry level gigabit router with all the routing configuration options you could want. For more advanced features you need to be looking at the e3000 and e4000 which allow you to attach usb hdds to the router and run them as media servers. Seriously though, i cannot emphasise how awesome linksys are, you cant go wrong with them

Weird, I'm just outside of Luton and 100Mb's been available for a long time now.. It shows that the upgrades are not prioritised towards the UBRs that have more customers..

Kymmy, you may know more about this. There is actually a network problem affecting Hitchin, Letchworth, and Baldock area. Although the area affected may be bigger as the server will be the same as yours in Luton. It was an engineer who lives and works in the area who told me about the problem, and has also reported it. The problem causes a drop in BB performance, and means that with my 100mb, I only receive between 50 and 75mb.

Do you have the same problem in Barton Kymmy?

Nope because we use Flitwick UBR and not Hitchin which again isn't Luton which has their own UBR

OK, thanks. So I presume it is a problem at the Hitchin UBR (whatever that is).

Have you bothered to check the service status?

According to the engineer, it's not something that shows up on the service status.
