Old Sky Box. Can I use with no phone line?
Hi. I had SKY several years ago - then switched to Virgin. Recently I've left Virgin and now have a BT line, BT broadband and freeview. We were thinking of putting a new aerial point in our bedroom - but as I have an old Sky box I was wondering if I should use that instead (without subscription) and re-route the satellite cable to the bedroom. But I don't have a BT line/extension in there - and wondered if I needed one. Any 'low cost' solutions/suggestions? Cheers

Re: Old Sky Box. Can I use with no phone line?
You only need the phone line connected while you're in contract or have a multi room subscription.
....or want to order PPV. You will probably need to order a 'freesatfromsky' viewing card if you want to be able to recieve ALL the channels available though http://www.sky.com/shop/freesat/home/faq/#3 |

Quote:
Satellite dish = freesat > [coverage @90% of UK] better + more choices not forgetting future upgrades more HD channels * room for much more afterwards. 1#freesat on sky> you'll need to get a card to get your region otherwise you'll get national stations eg: news channels etc - BBC 2# other freesat packages too other than sky - google Aerial = Freeview > [coverage 75% of UK]> first off no room for future upgrades (government selling bandwidth soon) forget about proper hd channel too, they haven't got enough bandwith to do much with what they have now. Cable wise I haven't a clue - what sky uses, but generally you can pick up a double cable length of ready made with F - connectors very cheaply, just buy the adopters that screws onto the end -easy aerial wise. So that my input, I hope it enlightens you yokwerx with some good knowledge toonlight |

Use these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodmans-Fre...dp/B005167UUQ/ in any room you want with Freesat.
