Doesn't look like this issue is going away any time soon does it. I can't see Putin and his cronies giving in so let's hope it doesn't get nasty.

Putin kept power by being the puppet master until he could change the law and become the boss again in name also.

He won't give up this desire for total power.

Sometimes when you pretend to give democracy later on the people want it for real and do not want a return to the old ways under another name. Trouble is putin has never struck me as the "give up power peacefully" sort i think he will try and hold onto the bitter end whatever that maybe.

Putin can reshuffles his cronies as much as he wants but l think in in the medium term his days are numbered as increasingly the public demand real democracy and not the fake one there is there at the moment.

While Putin will ultimately get what he deserves this is not going to end well. With two parties hanging well left of centre, bordering on Marxism breathing right down his neck is the grass really greener for one-and-all?

Given that Putin is ultimately a corrupt despot suffering severely from cult of personality perhaps it is for someone.
