New Tivo installation but he (engineer) took the V+

Hi all. I had a Tivo installed a couple of weeks ago! The engineer was very efficient and was gone within an hour! He also took my V+ box! Could I have made use of the box and should he have taken it or should he have left it with me?? If it was of no use to me then I'm not all that bothered but if i could have used the box in another room the I'm well miffed!!

Thanks for any info\suggestions!! :erm:

Hello,

The V+ would be no use to you unless you pay VM for multiroom. The engineers have to take it away as all VM equipment remains their property.

Hope that helps

No problem, I hope you're enjoying your TiVo.

I take it the free multiroom offer for people upgrading to tivo has ended then (XL TV).

I think if you are on XL TV you can keep your V+ box for multiroom?

Yes and i got the free mulitroom offer in November. I think still think it exists. One of the Virgin Media staff on this forum should know the answer.

As I understand it, if you ask for the old box to be moved when you book the installation, it is put on the job sheet and that's what the engineer does. I didn't know that originally, but phoned VM ahead of installation and got them to add it to the job sheet. V+HD box moved to other room, no fuss, no multiroom charge. :)

When I had my TiVo installed earlier in the year, I didn't have to ask - they phoned me and offered free multiroom. They didn't put this on the installer's job sheet though, but he was very helpful and made a few phone calls to sort it out :)
