Control V= with a Sky controller

I have a Tivo in the lounge and a V+ suppling the other rooms via 2 vda's with digital bypass.
The remote controllers will control the v plus box but only with the original Virgin controller.
How do I set up the sky controller which is a one for all type.

If it really is a Sky product I'd be surprised if it can control VM boxes.

If it's a generic remote control, you should be able to find instructions by Googling the model number. Post the model number here if you are still stuck.

Sadly I think a lot of universal remotes not made for UK don't have codes for Virgin Media boxes in their memories by default. Not a problem if you have the type which can have new codes downloaded to it or it can learn IR codes from the original remote, but you usually have to get a top of the range model to do that.

It isupplied by Maplin but it does have sky printed on a large button at the top.
MNopdel UTRC161-10RO1 3RC32B-1163. If that means anything to you.

Google says that is a standard Sky+HD remote, even if it did come from Maplins. Sorry, you won't be able to control VM boxes with it.

If you want to use a generic remote, you'd need a brand such as One For All.

Often older generic remotes won't have Virgin Media codes listed, but may list codes for Pace or NTL boxes that will work.

Sadly my American-made ones don't, but you're right about those older codes. They've never changed have they? All the STB remotes I've had over the years are interchangeable though of course some features are missing on the old ones.
