v+ box dying
hi,my v+ box is on it`s last legs, keeps rebooting, lost v+ services and the hard drive is clicking all the time, already rang technical who sent a signal to fix it and it lasted two hours, what i`m wondering is can i bring my normal v box from another room and connect that up instead,my freeview signal is bad so will be without tv,so will it be possible to disconnect my v+ box and connect my normal set top box to at least have something to watch ???

Re: v+ box dying
Yea, no problem

Re: v+ box dying
If your normal V box is registered with working smartcard etc you can put it anywhere that's set up for a set top box. Case in point, my house is wired for three STBs and if I wanted to put the TiVo I have somewhere else in the house hooking it up to one of the other two and letting it load for a few minutes would mean it would work the same as it did in the first place.

Re: v+ box dying
You can move it, but if the cable is faulty you might find you get the same problem with the V-Box too.
Have you reported the fault on the V+ again? |
Re: v+ box dying
cheers for the replies, yeah rang them again and spoke to someone who knew what he was on about, definately the hard drive going, just connected the other box and no probelms so far apart from the wife moaning about all her recordings being lost, got a tech coming friday afternoon to replace it,i`ve signed up for tivo but can`t get it installed until 11th jan

Re: v+ box dying
If you cancelled the TiVo there is a good chance the tech can up sell you one during the visit

Re: v+ box dying
what do you mean by the tech might be able to up sell me one ??,also i know thiers a £3 per month charge for tivo but looking on the vm website if you get the 500gb box is there no £50 installation fee,you only get charged if you get the 1tb box because when i ordered it i was`nt told which box it would be,just about the £50 installation fee ????
