unexpected bonus

im not one to try and get something for free but the other day i phoned virgin as i was going to join sky, i only phoned up to see how long i had on my contract. but by the end of the conversation with nice young lady i had agreed to a new contract that consisted of an extra box(tivo) totally free and at the same time my monthly bill falling by almost £20, im now an extremely happy customer. thank you Virgin...

Hmmm..Does it not cross your mind that the Virgin, you speak so highly of, may have been overcharging you for who knows how long?

Just a thought.......

I've said this before, but someone I know was promised all sorts not to cancel. and the promises were false.
get it in writing. she tried her hardest to get them to send written confirmation but it kept getting lost in the post.

Been there, done that, but they never ever sent the T-Shirt. :(

Well often it works and CS can be trusted. When I called to say I was considering BT now that Infinity is available in my area, my price (which was already less than shown on the VM website) was reduced by £19 per month.

Thanks for that nefu I was starting to worry a bit there after reading the other posts, plus I have only just had a bad experience with CS trying to get a £50 credit for a recommend a friend. Plus the saving I mentioned in my first post isn't that great considering £5 a month of it was for payment handling, and I'm now back on DD. but I am still waiting for it in writing as I was promised though.

A little update, TiVo installed last week and my latest bill is online, and I'm glad to say it is exactally like I was promised ;-)

We've all had these offers, just be sure to read the small print of your 'new' contract which should specify that the offer will expire after a year and by the time you know it you're back to square one

Re: unexpected bonus

It is due to expire sometime in 2013 but by then I will be back on a rolling contract as the one I've just entered is a 12 month contract, so if I feel it's unreasonable than I'm free to do what I was origanlly going to do and move.
